The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may be stressful for people for any number of reasons. Fear and anxiety about this disease and its impact on individuals and their families can be overwhelming. Data has shown stress during an infectious disease outbreak can include: fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones, changes in sleep or eating patterns, worsening of chronic health problems, worsening of mental health conditions, and increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs. In this panel, we talk to mental health and wellness practitioners to discuss a combination of steps to improve your emotional health on your own and seeking professional support and treatment while you work from home (wfh).

Lee Boole is a Senior HR Business Partner at General Assembly. She’s spent the past nine years in human resources and recruiting, internally at General Assembly and previously at global communications giant Ogilvy & Mather, and on the client-side providing HR consultative services to white collar firms and startups in NYC. She’s had a strong focus on manager development, starting while she pursued her master’s degree in human resource management at Georgetown, and continuing at GA where she’s shaped and run the organization’s manager training program for the past three years.

Jennifer Has been featured on NBC, ABC, CBS, Huffington Post, Mind Body Green, Elvis Duran, and the Jennifer McCarthy show, to name a few. She has works with corporations such as Prada, Health Coaches Institute, Turner Construction, Wyncode Tech Company, Entrepreneur Organization, The Standard Hotel, and Gratitude Training Corp. Jennifer currently leads workshops at The Sacred Space locally and corporate wellness programs internationally and online.

Adrienne Michelle is a licensed therapist and expert in diversity and inclusion. She received her Master’s Degree from Thomas Jefferson University and as a therapist, facilitator and speaker found herself being consulted with for many efforts of D&I. Her passion stems from being a facilitator for over ten years, educating communities about diversity and inclusion with an emphasis on race, gender and sexual diversity. She has been a guest educator at several major universities such as UNCG, NCCU & Duke; has trained over 700 professionals advocating for positive representation in all areas of sexual, racial and gender diversity and inclusion. She strives to continue her advocacy by using an intersectional perspective as a therapist, educator, and speaker throughout her career.
